St Mark&#8217;s Church-in-the-Bowery, NYC<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1452\" height=\"2034\" src=\"http:\/\/two.webdev.gnym.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/img_0536.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-45\" srcset=\"https:\/\/two.webdev.gnym.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/img_0536.jpg 1452w, https:\/\/two.webdev.gnym.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/img_0536-214x300.jpg 214w, https:\/\/two.webdev.gnym.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/img_0536-731x1024.jpg 731w, https:\/\/two.webdev.gnym.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/img_0536-768x1076.jpg 768w, https:\/\/two.webdev.gnym.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/img_0536-1096x1536.jpg 1096w, https:\/\/two.webdev.gnym.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/img_0536-143x200.jpg 143w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1452px) 100vw, 1452px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>The program cover, with Eleanor Roosevelt holding a copy of the Declaration she helped bring into being.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In June 2019, as part of our first full-length concert, we presented the US premiere of <em>Human Rights<\/em>, commissioned by Maestro L\u00e9vy from his former student Antoine Miannay, along with other pieces, at St Mark&#8217;s Church\u2013in-the-Bowery, in Manhattan&#8217;s East Village.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This choral piece, with a jazz-inspired quartet accompaniment (piano, clarinet, percussion, double bass), includes text from the UN&#8217;s 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Other pieces on the program included Arvo P\u00e4rt&#8217;s <em>Da pacem Domine<\/em>, Stephen Schwartz&#8217;s <em>Testimony<\/em>, and <em>Beyond the Concert Hall<\/em>, written and performed by CantaNYC member Nicole Zaray Meter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">December 8, 2019: <strong><em>Human Rights<\/em><\/strong> by Antoine Miannay. Performed at the Amnesty International Group 11 annual benefit concert.
